Ila
Retired
Ila is the first goat I ever owned. As of 2024, every single bar of soap has Ila's milk. She gave me nearly 2 gallons of milk daily, so she's certainly earned her retirement! Since day 1, this gal has never been a fan of anyone but me. If someone else tried to milk her, she would literally lay on them. We're talking 150 pounds of goat, that doesn't make for easy milking! Now, she spends her days wandering the field, eating hay and brush, and loving the attention whenever I'm at the barn.
Astrid
Mama to be
This girl came to Green Mountain Farm in 2022 when she was still on a bottle. Since then, she's become the sweetest (clingiest) goat I've ever owned. She must have physical contact 24/7 or she will give you the biggest puppy (or goaty?) eyes you have ever seen. She is due to give birth August, 2024, she'll be a first freshener which means it's her first time being a mama; wish her luck!
Genesis
In the beginning...
In early 2023, I drove from Virginia to Michigan to get this girl when she was just a few months old. Her pedigree is outstanding, her body confirmation is beautiful, and her little personality is... well, not so little. She's such a sweetie and I love her to death. You might be wondering where her name came from... when I brought her home, I couldn't help but feel it was a new start for Green Mountain Farm. I had just retired Ila and was feeling discouraged about my business. Bringing her to the farm was the beginning of my business taking off. Genni here will be in the fall of 2024, I can't wait to see her offspring and watch her develop!
